Sheriffs Detectives Remind Public Of Infants 2011 Death
Sheriff

The Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department announced they still want the public’s help on the five-year anniversary of a newborn baby that was found dead in a garbage can at a Waterford minimart.

On Dec. 1, 2011 at 9:22 p.m. deputies responded to the Bait Barn at 12505 Yosemite Blvd. in Waterford, for a report of an infant found in a garbage can. The infant was believed to be one-day old and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Despite investigating the death and checking with area hospitals to see if any had treated a recently pregnant woman, detectives were unable to locate parents for the baby boy or discover why he was left in the garbage can.

In March 2012, the Stanislaus County Coroner reported it could not determine the infant’s cause of death. Pathologists listed the boy’s cause of death as undetermined.

Though five years have passed, detectives are still seeking information on the investigation.
