Oakdale Police Arrest Suspect For Burglary

An early morning call on Tuesday resulted in the arrest of one man in connection with a burglary.

According to police, officers responded to a business burglary alarm at Oakdale Pharmacy at about 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27. Upon arrival, the Oakdale Police Department officers observed a Hispanic male exiting a shattered window to the business. He immediately started to flee after failing to obey verbal commands to stop from officers. After a brief foot pursuit, OPD officers were able to apprehend the suspect at the end of the business complex.

The suspect was wearing a medical mask, rubber gloves, and had burglary tools in his possession. He was also found in possession of stolen narcotic medications form the business.

Police said the suspect, Daniel Castillo, 34, was booked into Stanislaus County Jail for felony second degree burglary. He was also booked for possession of narcotics, burglary tools and obstructing or delaying police officers, which are all misdemeanors.
