Child Cruelty, Drug Charges Filed Against Oakdale Woman
Tenessa Price

An Oakdale woman remains jailed on $25,000 bail and faces a court hearing on Friday, Feb. 24 on drug and child cruelty charges.

Tenessa Michelle Price, 28, was arrested after a trip to the emergency room on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Price, of Oakdale, was arrested after her one-year-old son was found to have methamphetamine in system.

According to Oakdale Police, officers were dispatched to the Oak Valley Hospital emergency room about 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 15, regarding a one-year-old male with an unknown allergic reaction.

Upon arrival, police contacted the mother, Price, who said she brought her son to the emergency room because she believed he was having an allergic reaction to a new shampoo. Police determined that the child was displaying behavior consistent with that of methamphetamine use.

Price was taken into custody by Oakdale Police and subsequently placed under arrest for child endangerment. Price was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine at the time of her arrest. The child was transported to another local area hospital for further observation.

Child Protective Services was contacted due to the severity of the case. The child was placed in protective custody under CPS’s care.

Price was booked into custody at the Public Safety Center for felony child cruelty, causing possible injury/death and misdemeanor drug charges.
