COVID Vaccines Available Through Local Pharmacy

For those who haven’t been able to get in line for a COVID-19 vaccination yet, the local River Oak Pharmacy is taking appointments for those in the current vaccine tiers, Phases 1A and 1B.

“I have been doing COVID vaccinations for about four weeks,” said Pharmacist Ken Cosner. “Right now we are looking for patients, we have plenty of vaccine.”

He reported this week that he had roughly 200 slots available for Friday, March 12. Those wanting to make an appointment are urged to go to the website, riveroakpharmacy.com and click on the yellow banner for COVID vaccine information and appointments.

Cosner said the vaccinations are given curbside, in a ‘drive up’ style, with recipients then staying in the parking lot for the required amount of time before leaving. That way, he said, there are no long lines to stand in and each patient stays in their own vehicle.

“We’re following the same criteria as Stanislaus County,” Cosner added of who is currently eligible to receive the vaccinations.

In Phase 1A, healthcare workers and long-term care residents can get vaccinated. In Phase 1B, the list expands to include those 65 and older and those ages 16 and older in sectors including education and childcare, food and agriculture, and emergency services.

There is no cost to receive the vaccine.

River Oak Pharmacy is at 1080 W. F St., Suite D in Oakdale.
