Chocolate Festival Approaching

Plans continue for the rescheduled Oakdale Chocolate Festival, being put on by the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce and set for later this month.

Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25 and 26, are the dates set aside for this year’s event, moved from its traditional May dates.

Admission is $6 at the gate for adults and $5 for seniors while kids 12 and under are admitted free. Bring a canned good to the gate for $1 off admission. You can also purchase discounted pre-sale tickets for $4 each by Monday, Sept. 13.

There will vintage arts and crafts booths, chocolate vendors along Chocolate Avenue, a variety of food vendors, specialty merchandise, entertainment and more.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days with a classic car show offered each day and a 5k and one-mile fun run slated for Sunday, Sept. 26; the one-mile starts at 8 a.m., the 5k at 8:30 a.m.

Over 200 vendors are anticipated for the two-day weekend fest and new this year will be a cornhole tournament on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m.; download the SCOREHOLIO app for pre-registration.
