An Oakdale man died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that occurred Monday evening, June 27.

Fire and ambulance crews, along with the California Highway Patrol, responded to the scene at 26-Mile Road and Dunn Ranch Road, just northeast of Oakdale. The incident was reported shortly before 5:15 p.m.

The motorcyclist was identified as Benjamin Hazlewood, 41, of Oakdale. Authorities classified the accident as a solo motorcycle crash but did not indicate what may have prompted the cycle to crash. A portion of 26-Mile Road was shut down for a time on Monday evening during the investigation.

Emergency personnel reported that Hazlewood was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries. His identity was released through the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.
