Bill Adams, representing veterans and Miles Shuper of the community church are coordinating the event, which will be held annually with funds going where needed.

“We can never do enough for our veterans,” Adams said. “We must never take for granted what they have done and continue to do for this nation.”

Shuper, whose family has been in Knights Ferry since at least 1848, said “The church is unique in our local history and has played a major role in this community for generation after generation. It needs some structural repairs and restoration. The church is strong, helps keep residents and all others strong and now it needs to be kept just as strong.”
