October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and businesses in Oakdale Station are coming together for the first ‘Hunt for a Cure’ Event. Kristine’s Designer Clothing, Papapolloni, Tainted Arts Tattoo, Jayne Hartley, CPA, Xtreme Stitches and Pura Vida have joined forces to help find a cure for the deadly disease.

“We are raising money for cancer research in hopes to end this disease for good,” said Kristine Fallentine of Kristine’s Designer Clothing.

Throughout this month of October the six businesses, located in Oakdale Station at 1214 W.F St., have been selling $1 tickets giving patrons a chance to win up to $500 in gift cards and merchandise in the Oakdale Station. All proceeds from the event will go directly to Breast Cancer Research. The drawing for the prize winner will be conducted Halloween night. Store owners also urge residents to visit their stores, and get a special card stamped by each of the six participating stores; that can also be entered into the grand prize drawing.

On Thursday, Oct. 29 Kristine’s Designer Clothing will also be having its first Pink Night Out event. The event will be catered by Papapolloni. Among the activities, there will be drawings for door prizes and free gifts throughout the night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
