It’s back – the holiday lighted boat parade on the Delta.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, this annual event along Stockton’s downtown waterfront will once again feature boats and yachts adorn in Christmas lights.

A blanket of hyacinth along these waterways forced the cancelation of this boat parade for the past two years.

The lighted yachts and other water crafts will depart from Buckley Cove (near Light 36) at 5 p.m. and should arrive in the downtown area by 6 o’clock.

This event is hosted by the Marina West Yacht Club. Admission is free of charge.

The boat parade can be seen anywhere along the delta – Weber Point Event Center will have a flurry of the holiday activities during this time – with the route consisting of a turnaround at McCloud Lake and a return to Buckley Cove.

Delta College – The 2016 holiday season will kick-off as hundreds of families will join together to light-up Tree of Lights throughout San Joaquin County. This year marks the Hospice of San Joaquin’s 28th year of helping area families honor a loved one on one the 8 tree of lights. The main Tree of Lights at Delta College along with others throughout SJC offers the community an opportunity to memorialize a loved one no longer with us, or to honor a person who holds a special place in your heart. “Light up a Light… Light up a Life!” has become a traditional holiday event in SJC. Between now and Dec. 3, with eight trees being lit to remember those who have passed. For more information, call 209.957.3888.

LODI

The holidays arrive in Lodi on Thursday, Dec. 1, with the 21st Annual Parade of Lights. This downtown tradition will usher the festive season with over 80 floats decorated in lights coupled with marching bands, dance groups and themed vehicles.

This holiday community event will begin at 6:17 p.m. and is for folks of all ages.

TRACY
