David Reberg Whittaker of Oakdale and Maritsa Jasmin Juarez of Chico united as husband and wife on June 11, 2011.
The couple wed during a late afternoon ceremony hosted at Holly’s Bluff in Fort Bragg, California. Chaplin Bill Gibson of Mendocino presided over the double ring ceremony.
About 120 family and friends attended the wedding and the reception that followed in the same location.
The bride is the daughter of Javier and Sherry Juarez of Chico. She earned her Nursing Degree from Chico State University in 2007. She is currently employed at Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
Beside her as Maid of Honor was friend A.J. Edmondson. Bridesmaids were Marek White, Tiffany Jossel, Rebecca Markey, Dawn Gonnsen, all friends of the bride, and niece of the groom Alexandra Folks.
She was given in marriage by her father Javier Juarez.
The groom is the son of John and Barbara Whittaker of Oakdale. He earned a degree in Exercise Physiology from Chico State University in 2006. He is continuing his education studying as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
Marc Peterson of Modesto was present as the Best Man. Groomsmen were Jason Whitney, Randy Russell, Mathias Garcia, Nathan Gorham, all classmates from Oakdale High; and nephew of the groom Andrew Folks.
The couple plans to honeymoon later this year in Kauai, Hawaii. They will reside in Chico.
