Tyler Olson and Katharine Thompson of Susanville have announced their plans to exchange vows as husband and wife. The couple became engaged Jan. 2, 2010 at Torrey Pines State Park.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dan and Sue Thompson of Escalon. Daniel Thompson and Julia Thompson are her siblings. She is currently employed as a substitute teacher.

The prospective groom is the son of Kevin and Renee Olson of Escalon. Kyle Olson and Todd Olson are his brothers. He is currently employed as a police officer with the City of Susanville.

The couple has set a wedding date of June 25, 2011 in the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church with a reception to follow.
