A girl, Itzabel Cortez-Ruiz, was born June 6, 2010 to expectant parents Leeann Ruiz and Gabriel Cortez of Riverbank. The newborn weighed seven pounds, two ounces upon arrival at Oak Valley Hospital.

Welcoming the newcomer home was older sibling Tomas Valenzuela-Ruiz.

Leticia P. Soto of Riverbank is the maternal grandmother.

Emilio and Guadalupe Cortez of Mexico are paternal grandparents.
