A girl, Helena Leigh Leer Smith, was born Feb. 3, 2011 to parents Alec Smith and Ericka Leer of Pasadena. The newborn weighed eight pounds, one ounce upon arrival at Arcadia Methodist Hospital.

Welcoming the newcomer home was older sibling Alexandra Jane Leer Smith.

Eric and Martha Leer of Escalon are the maternal grandparents.

Charlie Smith of St. Helena and Sheila North of Benicia are the paternal grandparents.
