This past Monday, September 11 marked 16 years since 9/11 ... a horrific, tragic day that changed the way we live and think forever. May we never forget the sacrifices of the brave men and women lost on that fateful day.

At our Town Hall meeting last Wednesday evening we learned that our Valley Home Fire Station will remain on the same schedule as before. We will share station staffing on a 50/50 basis with Knights Ferry! There is excitement among community members as we explore the possibility of raising much needed funding for our fire department! We will be working with our Knights Ferry neighbors and hope each of you will share your ideas for making funding available to our Fire Department! Meeting times, dates and details to follow. We all need and depend on our fire service ... seconds count!

Our Valley Home sixth grade students are learning about our great outdoors this week. They are at Outdoor Ed Camp this entire week. The students will take part in hands on learning activities each day and will return to Valley Home this Friday afternoon. What a great experience for all!

Our delightful and dedicated Valley Home School bus driver, the beautiful and talented Mrs. Bonnie Gellerman celebrated her birthday this past week in style! As usual she was committed to making life better for those in our community and showed up on her birthday at our town hall meeting! Not realizing it was her birthday, we missed the chance for the community to sing “Happy Birthday” to her, so we say “Happy Birthday, Bonnie” – may the wind always be at your back. Our community loves and appreciates you every day!

Our Parent Teacher Club met this past Monday to discuss plans for several upcoming events. One of these special events coming up will be our annual Fall Harvest Festival. This year the Harvest Festival will be held on Oct. 21st at the school. Tons of fun for the whole family. More exciting details to come!
