Happy New Year! Knights Ferry has so much to look forward to in the New Year; Peddler’s Faire, school dinner and auction, Civil War Days, classic car show, Pumpkin Roll, Salmon Festival, the Christmas Parade, and so many events in between!

If you are looking for a New Year’s resolution I have one for you! Plug in to one of the many avenues of town activities. The Miller’s Hall, Community Club, water board, MAC committee, and other clubs in town are all places that need your help. I urge you to extend your time and helping hands beyond your family and extended family to give back to the present time in the community and help preserve the history of our special town. In doing so, many will be able to attest to the true treasures and traditions of Knights Ferry.

The Community Club is hosting a paint night fundraiser featuring the Covered Bridge on Saturday, Jan. 27. Paint Nite, a trending social paint night company will provide all the supplies for each person including a canvas, easel, paint, etc. There will be a professional artist instructing the evening. It is for all skill levels; beginners to Masters, both men and women and all ages (they recommend at least 14 years old). The cost is $45 and includes supplies and participants will take home their very own canvas painting! For more information and tickets: or contact Tasha Sweet 209-606-3828.

The ODD Fellows monthly pancake breakfast is on Sunday. They are selling $5 raffle tickets for a 36” smart TV. Start the New Year off right with pancakes, eggs, ham, coffee, and juice!

Happy Birthday to all the New Year month babies: Heather Wright, Sean McCarthy, Barbara Burroughs, Alexis Arias, Logan Martinelli, Kaeli Sweet, Madison Page, Rick Feichter, Joe Murray, Larry Bell, Sam Page, Matthew Boyer, Ben Cassinetto, Heather Voortman, Carson Sundberg, Malia Olivo, Jett Thompson, Jak Gardner, Hadley Gardner, Jessica Martinez, Naya Morua, Nathaly Ramirez, Josh Patton, and twins, Ruth and Rose Basmajian.
