POSTED July 2, 2014 12:21 p.m.

Stanislaus of Public Works has CHANGED THE DATES of the slurry seal on the town’s streets. New dates are July 7-8-9. The streets are to be sealed in the order as before, Monday-Dent past Vantine and Vantine and Main Street. Tuesday-Lynde, Shurl, Dean and the rest of Dent, Wednesday-Ellen and by the Plaza to Cemetery road. No cars or pedestrians are to be on the sealing job for two hours afterwards. Plan your day accordingly.

Condolences go out to the Ardis family on the death of Annie, wife of Grant and mother of Reagan. Services were held last Friday with burial in the Knights Ferry Cemetery.

At the MAC meeting the Masons want to remodel some of their lodge and the plans will be at the next meeting. Carol Davis reported that the Museum Associates are looking to put a Gateway to Knights Ferry sign on the Highway. The Post Office is having trouble getting stamps to sell from Oakdale. Scott Wucherer is interested in being on the MCA to replace Cliff Howse. He has completed the paperwork for the position. California Highway Patrolman Anthony P. reported a white Dodge van with front-end damage has been seen casing the area.

Many thanks go out to the Stanislaus County Department of Public Works for the removal of a VERY large tree limb that completely blocked Frymire Road last Tuesday.

The Fiber Optics line on Orange Blossom Road has been activated by AT&T with unlimited gigabytes. The Shook family has activated it and says it is great!
