POSTED August 21, 2013 6:02 a.m.

Welcome to Knights Ferry School’s Kindergarten class Bryce Anderson, Charlee Birdsong, Maya Camara, Maddie Dickens, Leland Kruse, Stryker Kruse, Eddy Limon, Joshua Maceira, Tristan McCarthy, Tristan Voortman and Jonathan Wheat. Have a great school year!

Fred Dolling reports that a new Odd Fellows lodge has opened in the district at Jenny Lind. They will have a breakfast on the second Sunday of the month from 8-12, like at Knights Ferry.

Movie night was well attended again! All enjoyed “Surf’s Up” and popcorn. Next month look for the new date and time in this column.

Good to see Tracey Griesner out and about after her neck surgery.

Kaeli Sweet was on crutches at the movie night. She stepped on a leather-sewing needle and it lodged in her foot almost to the bone. The doctors couldn’t grab it to pull it out.

Diane Boyer and her sister Elaine have returned from Junction City, Oregon where they attended the Scandinavian Festival.

Barbara Burroughs has returned from Georgia where she said good-bye to her daughter-in-law Justina and grandson Neal as they are leaving to join Major Rett Burroughs in South Korea where he is stationed with the Army. Rett can now jump from airplanes with the South Korean Special Forces.

Your reporter and hubby Lee joined other family members at the Robert Hickey home in Jamestown for a dinner for great nephew Robby Hickey who has finished Army Boot Camp and is on his way to Fort Drum in New York. Also it was great to see great-great nephew Duke Kadooka, born August 7 to Adriana (Hickey) and Mike Kadooka.
