Lawrence Shetterly

Lawrence Shetterly, 76, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 22 of heart failure in Modesto.

He was born in Kansas and raised in San Leandro. He and his wife lived in Stanislaus County for 21 years and they lived in Oakdale for three years.

Mr. Shetterly served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a retired boilermaker.

Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years; three daughters and their families of Arizona; one son and his family of Tracy; two brothers; one sister; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Shetterly; and three brothers.

A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at San Joaquin National Cemetery, Santa Nella. Following the service, friends and family are invited to the Shetterly’s home in Oakdale.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
