Wally Morrow, age 94, of Oakdale, died December 28 at Oakdale, CA.
His working life included 20 years of service for Stanislaus County, retiring in 1989 as the elected County Auditor-Controller. He was born in Ripon, CA to parents John and Ada Morrow, and grew up on Morrow Road north of Modesto, where his father and grandfather had settled in 1910. Wally was a native and lifetime resident of Stanislaus County, except for 10 years after retirement when he lived in Pine Mountain Lake, Groveland, CA. He then returned to Stanislaus County, residing in Oakdale.

Wally attended Modesto High School and Modesto Jr. College, graduating in 1942 as MJC Student Body President and class valedictorian. He remained grateful throughout his life for the love, support and encouragement received from his parents, family, and many friends. He remembered fondly the dedicated instructors at MJC for their attention and assistance which helped to start his working life of 50 years.
He was married for 72 years to Patricia (Cole) Morrow of Modesto. Their 72nd anniversary was on December 26, 2017.
Surviving him are his wife Pat; son John D. Morrow of Sunnyvale, CA; daughter Jana Morrow Baker (Robert) of Edenton, NC; and granddaughter Hannah Baker of Greensboro, NC.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Jared R. Morrow; also by his brother, Leslie E. Morrow of Oakdale, and his sister, Adele Ney of Sonoma.
At his request, no formal services are planned. Private interment will be at the Garden Mausoleum in Acacia Memorial Park, Modesto. Remembrances, if desired, may be made to Modesto Junior College Foundation, 435 College Ave., Modesto, CA 95350, or a charity of your choice.
