Doris Lucille (Rivera) Wright, 84, died Thursday, Dec. 5.

She was born in Ponderosa, N.M. to Clemente and Elizaida Rivera, the oldest of 13 children. She graduated from Oakdale High School in 1949. She married Vic Wright in Oakdale at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Mrs. Wright will be remembered for her loving and selfless devotion not only to her family, but to her extended family and friends.

The family thanks Hospice at Emmanuel Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Vic Wright; daughters, Linda (Ken) Parkins, Joan Wright, all of Turlock, Petrilla (Tom Babcock) Wright of Santa Rosa; son, James (Paulette) Wright of Oakdale; siblings, Mike (Pat) Rivera, Roland (Rosie) Rivera, Carlo (Irene) Rivera, Gloriana (Bob) Schad, Phil (Rivera), Marie Rivera; sister-in-laws, Pat Rivera, Marlin Seadorf; grandchildren, Danielle (Willie) Haggard of Merced, Lindsey Parkins, Eric Parkins, Jael Serrano, all of Turlock; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Shawn, Rayven, Shayla, Isabelle, Anthony; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Tony Rivera, Romeo Rivera, Josephine Leal, Lori Rivera, Frances Lett, and Clem Rivera, Jr.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 12 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 89 N. Oak Ave., Oakdale. Interment will be at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery following mass.
