Swiss Echoes Concert

The San Joaquin Valley Swiss Echoes, a singing and yodeling club in Ripon since 1947, is having its annual spring concert and dance on Saturday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Swiss Hall in Ripon. The hall is on the corner of Manley and East Main streets. Featured will be a variety of folk songs and yodels. There will also be a raffle with fun prizes, followed by dancing to the tunes of the Mitchell Gander Ron Scheiber Orchestra. Admission to the concert and dance is $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

 

Women’s Luncheon

Come to the last luncheon meeting of the year for the Oakdale Women’s Club, set for Tuesday, May 2. Installation of Officers and Scholarship recipients are the main event. Cost for the noon luncheon buffet at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club on North Stearns Road is $16 per person. RSVP to Linda Rossi at 209-606-7727 or lindarossi49@yahoo.com.

 

Age With Movement

The Healthy Aging Association will host “Age With Movement,” on Friday, May 5. This free event celebrates Older Americans Month. The free festivities include vendor booths, balance and fitness testing, blood pressure check and fun ways to get moving. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Booths are open from 8 a.m. to noon. Oakdale Rescue Mission

 

Join in the fundraising barbeque and silent auction at the Burger Fest hosted by the Oakdale Rescue Mission on Saturday, May 6. The event will take place at Community United Methodist Church, 1480 Poplar in Oakdale, and run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with tickets available for $20, children under 12 eat for free. There will be food, music by local favorites Steadfast Heart, drawing for prizes and the chance to bid on silent auction items. Enjoy grilled burgers, hot dogs, salads, sides and beverages, with proceeds benefitting the Oakdale Rescue Mission and its efforts in reaching out to transform lives.
