Trees are shaking and the dust is settling as harvest season in the Valley is in full swing. Area businesses, clubs, organizations, community members, as well as the City of Oakdale, are welcoming fall with a number of activities and celebrations honoring the changing of the season.

Following is a listing of some area activities designed to celebrate the harvest season.

The Cutie Browne Pumpkin Patch and Crazy Corn Maze opened to the public earlier this month. Hosted by children’s author Lisa Widdess, the attraction is located at 9419 Wamble Road, Oakdale and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Closed Sunday and Monday. Bloomingcamp Ranch will host its 23rd Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Dozens of vendors will be on hand offering a unique variety of items. Families are invited to spend the day in a serene setting surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of fall. Bloomingcamp ranch is located at 10528 East Highway 120, Oakdale. For information call 848-8881.

Community United Methodist Church will host a Harvest Festival on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Carnival games, a magician, bounce house, free hot dogs, prizes and endless fun is open to the community. Activities designed primarily for children up to age 13. Costumes encouraged but no scary ones, please. The church is located at 1480 Poplar St., Oakdale. Admission is free.

Kiwanis Club of Oakdale will host the annual Halloween Parade and Festival on Saturday, Oct. 31. Parade assembly begins at 4:30 p.m. in the area of the Youth Building, 297 Gilbert Ave., Oakdale. Ghosts, goblins, critters and princesses will precede easterly down G Street beginning at 5 p.m. at end at the Gene Bianchi Community Center. Immediately following the parade attendees will be treated to hot dogs, games, candy, face painting and a variety of fun. The event is free to the community. A costume contest will also be held.
