Augie Martin was a humble, hard-working man, whose faith and family meant everything to him. During even the most spirited of gatherings, guests feel the peacefulness of their surroundings! Excited youngsters gathered eagerly at our little community park early last Saturday morning! They soon noticed the tell-tale signs that the Easter Bunny had visited Valley Home! Peeking out from the wispy dew covered hiding places were bunches of bright, colorful Easter eggs. As they ran from one grassy hiding place to the next their laughter rang out like a joyful melody! The smiles of delight on their young faces would surely make our long ago community center and park founders proud. What a fun time the youngsters had as they raced to fill their Easter baskets.

A favorite saying was on my mind today as I wrote this week's column, "A grateful heart knows many joys." Over the years I have saved many of the 'all occasion cards' that folks have sent to me. One of my many favorites is displayed near where I write this column. Actually I keep several of those thoughtful cards in prominent places. Easy to catch a glimpse, easy to be inspired, easy to remember how much folks care. Always grateful! I hope each of you will let your worries, whatever they may be, let them go and enjoy the ...

The sight of livestock grazing peacefully in lush green pastures, lovely white/pink almond blossoms as far as you can see, watching ever changing clouds as they float gently across a brilliant blue sky, hearing a mourning dove coo sweetly in a barn loft, we could go on and on. Such a special place, we are truly blessed to wake up in Valley Home each morning!
