Oak Valley Art Society members enjoyed an interesting program at their monthly meeting on Saturday which featured an interesting program by Escalon artist, Dorothy Girling and her husband Bob. Dorothy displayed some of her work and gave suggestions on the use and care of various art mediums. Valley Home residents began the New Year by welcoming in the new Superintendent/Principal for Valley Home School, Mrs. Rolanda Desrosiers-Lewis, to replace former Superintendent/Principal, Kevin Hart. The first official day for the new Principal began on Tuesday, January 3, as she welcomed the return of our Valley Home students from winter break. A group of our friends and neighbors from our Valley Home community traveled to Knights Ferry on Saturday to attend the fundraising dinner for 22 year old Ashley Bizzanelli. Did you miss the Valley Home 4H Halloween Monsters' Masquerade at the Valley Home Haunted Park last Saturday night? If so, shame on you. It was an outstanding scary, spooky, ghoulish event that was done with a great deal of thought and work and greatly enjoyed by many visitors from near and far. At one time 22 vehicles were seen parked along dark Pioneer Ave. in front of the park and in the school parking lot.
