Members of our community park board were excited to welcome Valley Home resident Ryan Cope as a new member of the park board. Ryan will serve as Treasurer for the community park. There is one board position open, if anyone would like to fill the open seat, please call Don Taro at 404-1641. The next event at the little park will be the "Christmas Tree Lighting" on December 5th. The colorful lights will be turned on immediately after the Community Lighted Parade. Valley Home 4-Hers will lead our community in singing Christmas carols followed by the Christmas Community Potluck Dinner ...

Autumn leaves crunched beneath our feet as we made our way to the annual Soup Luncheon and Craft Faire at St. Johns/St. Lukes church this past Saturday. One could not help but notice the peacefulness of mid-morning in Valley Home! You are invited this Friday, October 30th our Valley Home students will show their Halloween spirit as they parade through downtown Valley Home. The annual parade will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m. and wind its way from the school, past the General Store, around the corner, and back to the school. Excitement in Valley Home ... This Saturday, October 17 our community will come together to celebrate another successful harvest season and raise much needed funds for our Valley Home School! The fun will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday. There will be a huge Pumpkin Patch with pumpkins available to purchase ... included in the pumpkin patch area will be face painting, fall photos, pumpkin decorating and best carved pumpkin (pumpkins should be decorated and/or carved at home and brought to the festival before 5:15 p.m.) Cheers and applause will welcome the costume contest entries as they parade ...

We mourn the loss of a dear member of our Valley Home community ... the world definitely was a much better place with Mrs. Lois Hofmann in it. We mourn the passing of Lois, but celebrate the life of this kind and gracious woman. Lois passed away at the age of 84. Lois grew up in Valley Home and loved her community very much, always reaching out and inviting everyone to "come to church!" Lois was married to the love of her life, Erich Hofmann for 38 years until his passing in 1987. Together they raised their three children in Valley ...

A life well lived ... this past Saturday morning Valley Home lost a very special member of our community. Long time rancher, Tony Taro passed away peacefully at home on the ranch he loved so dearly. Tony is survived by daughter Vickie and son Donnie; he was preceded in death by his loving wife Claire. Tony was well known throughout Northern California, having served on several boards throughout the region. Locally, Tony was among the handful of people who organized the very first Oakdale Rodeo ... a fact he was extremely proud of! Another of Tony's local contributions was his years ...

Valley Home School board met last Tuesday … it was an exciting time for students and parents at Valley Home. The board and superintendent Price welcomed new second grade teacher Mrs. Nabors. Mrs. Nabors fits right in at Valley Home School, she is positive, very happy, well educated, who we are sure will bring a wonderful learning experience to our Valley Home second graders.
