Did you miss the Valley Home 4H Halloween Monsters' Masquerade at the Valley Home Haunted Park last Saturday night? If so, shame on you. It was an outstanding scary, spooky, ghoulish event that was done with a great deal of thought and work and greatly enjoyed by many visitors from near and far. At one time 22 vehicles were seen parked along dark Pioneer Ave. in front of the park and in the school parking lot.

Last Saturday, the Valley Home Community Park was the site of birthday festivities for Avery Kay Cornett. The park pavilion was transformed into a gala setting to celebrate little Avery's first birthday. About forty guests attended the celebration to honor Avery which was hosted by her parents, Shane Cornett and Emma-Rubio Cornett. The Bryhni family, who are all big Giants fans, traveled to San Francisco this past weekend. Kathy, Brooke, Sierra and Garrett enjoyed a tremendous outing by the Giants and also appreciated the opportunity to be part of such a moving tribute to 9/11. Maybe the family should go to more games as it seems to have brought luck to the team by the Bay!
We have received word from Valley Home PTC president, Sherri Rathbun, that the meeting of the group on September 1st was a productive one. Mr. Trunnell our 5th/6th grade teacher reported to the club that he and the students going to Washington D.C. in June, will be having several fundraising events to reduce the cost of the trip. Your reporter attended the Valley Home Joint School District Graduation on Tuesday evening May 21, 2013. The ceremony held in the school multi-purpose room was quite pleasant and the attractive decoration plants were provided by the Knudsen Nursery. Our Valley Home Hawks celebrated their annual Jog-A-Thon last Thursday. The Easter Bunny was on hand to watch the kids run and walk. It was obvious that everyone had some fun.
