At the meeting of the Museum and History Associates of Miller's Hall, Heather Wright from the Army Corp, presented the colors that they would like to paint the end caps of the Covered Bridge. The colors were in keeping with the historical image and were approved. The date for the annual Peddlers Faire was set for April 28, 2013.
Last Saturday evening your reporter sat on the porch swing and watched the fingers of verga sweep over the hills, punctuated by bolts of lightning. This was possible because grandson Alex cut down the 30-year-old oleander hedge that had gotten way too big! The School Board meets August 9th at 6:00 p.m. at the school.
The mountain lion has been sighted on Frymire Road! Michelle Mueller reports her neighbor saw it drinking out of the ditch and lying in the shade. There have been many deer in that part of the neighborhood, good food for the lion. A deer killed by a lion was on the Griesner beach on the river on July 4th. Be aware of your surroundings when outside.

Condolences go out to the family of Mary Napier on her death at 81 years. Mary was raised in the Ferry in the house that is now the Museum and Ice Cream parlor. Her sister Ida Levine, three children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild and nieces and nephews including Carla Doshas of Knights Ferry survive her.

It has been a wet time in the Ferry. The attendance at the Sunday Breakfast was down, no bicycle riders and many stayed out of the weather.
Scott Naccarato and Tristan were going to Alex and Jean's home late Saturday night when they came upon a large mountain lion on Cemetery Road. He sat there for a while then jumped the fence to the Martinelli pasture. Scott said it was very big! Be on the watch!
