The O.I.D. letter for a $5.00 fee was discussed, as was the O.I.D.'s wanting to put a pipeline across the cemetery. The final plans were submitted for the MAC's approval of the AT &T building addition.

Last Saturday evening your reporter sat on the porch swing and watched the fingers of verga sweep over the hills, punctuated by bolts of lightning. This was possible because grandson Alex cut down the 30-year-old oleander hedge that had gotten way too big!

The mountain lion has been sighted on Frymire Road! Michelle Mueller reports her neighbor saw it drinking out of the ditch and lying in the shade. There have been many deer in that part of the neighborhood, good food for the lion. A deer killed by a lion was on the Griesner beach on the river on July 4th. Be aware of your surroundings when outside.

A great big "Thank You!" from the Boyers to the Knights Ferry lawn ferries. Jim came home from the hospital and Diane and Jim were surprised to find their lawn had been mowed and things weed-eated and trimmed. Seems Martha Harding and helpers from the 50's Roadhouse went to work on the Boyer yard since Jim could not do it. It is nice to have such good friends!
Someone removed part of our fence between properties and compromised our security system. They mowed the berries and cut some branches off our shrubs. Yesterday some people were on the property next door and it looked like they were going to fence it. If you remove a fence shouldn't you contact the other property owner?

The skunks are coming out looking for mates and some are ending up as road kill. The recipe for de-skunking your dog is one quart of hydrogen peroxide, 1/3-cup baking soda and 1 tablespoon of liquid soap. With a cloth, wash it into the fur and leave for a few minutes then wash off. This needs to be done within four hours of skunking. I keep the ingredients on hand always!
