The Knights Ferry Municipal Advisory Committee (MAC) meets this Thursday, June 23rd at the clubhouse at 7:00p.m. Please attend, as a person from Velociter Wireless will be at the meeting to tell about their service for high-speed Internet connection. The company will be interested in how many Knights Ferry people are interested. Also another item on the agenda is our Post Office and the possibility of Oakdale closing this contract station. Knights Ferry has had a Post Office since 1853 (before Oakdale) and this meeting is VERY important!

At the Community Club meeting, the members were informed that someone had broken into the storage room and the liquor cabinet. There will be a surveillance camera put up. The dusk to dawn light in the plaza has finally been installed and lights up the parking lot. The Community Clubhouse can be rented for receptions etc. and there is an ad in the phone book. The next meeting is the July picnic at the park. A community yard sale was discussed and everyone seemed in favor of having it in October. All enjoyed the desserts.

Amy Simons and daughter Elissa spent their Easter vacation in France. Elissa had always wanted to go there and the time was right. They spent time in Paris doing all the "tourist" things, went to Rouen where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake, went to the beaches of Normandy where the cemetery has 9000 soldiers buried and France turned it over to the United States. They also went to Mont. St. Michel and toured the Loire Valley where they saw many Chateaus. It was a wonderful trip.
The gathering at the Frymire cross for Easter Sunrise service did not get to see the sun rise because of the cloud cover but that didn't dampen their spirits. Pastor Tanis led the assembled in song and worship. Afterwards all enjoyed good food and fellowship.

The Easter Sunrise Service wooden cross on Frymire Hill that had been blown over in a storm has been resurrected by the special effort of master craftsperson Bob Muller. Originally built for Easter by the Frymire's son-in-law Bob Paulat, time and weather rotted the wood so Bob Muller made a sturdy metal sleeve strong enough to survive many storms. Dave Rorabaugh effortlessly maneuvered his backhoe to put the cross into the new hole, dug by Verle Beckerdite. Fred and Lisa Dolling, who mixed and delivered the cement to the hole, provided the manual labor. Supervisors were Phil Frymire and ...
Spring is in the air and a lot of people came to the breakfast last Sunday to enjoy the good food, fellowship and the scenery along the way.
Your reporter's husband is sorry for the missed column last week. He sent the wrong column in, and it was too late when the mistake was discovered. He has since been relieved of his secretarial job, and your reporter has to learn how to attach a document to E-mail. Last week's news will be printed today.

Welcome to the world Ella Murray. She was born to Troy and Natalie on February 10th. Proud Knights Ferry grandparents are Joe and Kathy Murray.
A great big "Thank You!" from the Boyers to the Knights Ferry lawn ferries. Jim came home from the hospital and Diane and Jim were surprised to find their lawn had been mowed and things weed-eated and trimmed. Seems Martha Harding and helpers from the 50's Roadhouse went to work on the Boyer yard since Jim could not do it. It is nice to have such good friends!
Someone removed part of our fence between properties and compromised our security system. They mowed the berries and cut some branches off our shrubs. Yesterday some people were on the property next door and it looked like they were going to fence it. If you remove a fence shouldn't you contact the other property owner?

The skunks are coming out looking for mates and some are ending up as road kill. The recipe for de-skunking your dog is one quart of hydrogen peroxide, 1/3-cup baking soda and 1 tablespoon of liquid soap. With a cloth, wash it into the fur and leave for a few minutes then wash off. This needs to be done within four hours of skunking. I keep the ingredients on hand always!
