The month of June brought the 60th anniversary year of Soroptimist International of Oakdale (SIO) to a successful close. First chartered on June 5, 1954, the all-women's service group has served the community of Oakdale since the fall of 1954.

The California Chamber of Commerce has named the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce as one of 28 local chambers of commerce to receive the 2015 President's Circle Award. The award, presented during its annual conference in Sacramento, was first presented in 2009 and recognizes chambers for excellence in business advocacy and helping their members comply with California employment laws.
