The air was 'abuzz' at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma over the weekend of Aug. 20-22 and it wasn't from bees. The Indy Racing League cars were burning up the famous Sonoma "Wine Country" road course during the 2010 IZOD Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma. The sport is not necessarily in the mainstream, but Oakdale's Colby Qualls is doing his best to open the eyes of the Oakdale community to his particular sport of choice.

The Oakdale/Riverbank US Club Soccer team, playing as Turlock FC, got to heat it up this weekend in the annual Turlock Summer Fest Tournament. It was a great weekend for summer soccer with temperatures hitting 104 on Saturday afternoon. To add to the degree of difficulty, FC played Saturday with 12 players and 11 Sunday morning due to summer vacation schedules.
