Over the past four years the swimming program has been taken to new heights in Oakdale and that is a direct result of the time and effort given by Oakdale High head swimming coach Russ Van Cleave and his coaching staff.

Kick Off Reunion Honors Two Oakdale Legends

Former Oakdale High football players and coaches will be hosting a kick off reunion for the upcoming 2009 season, gathering Oakdale football alumni together for a huge tailgate party.
The festivities will be held at the F.E.S. Hall on Saturday, Aug. 29, kicking off at 5 p.m. Food, drinks and a no host bar will help usher in the 2009 season and recognize two of Oakdale's most revered former coaches in what will clearly be a night to remember.

Stampede Cheerleaders Rock At Recent Jamz Cheer Camp

The Oakdale Stampede cheerleaders took the final couple days out of the end of their summer vacation to participate in the JAMZ Cheer Camp when the national camp made its stop at Stanislaus State on Aug. 8 and 9.
The girls took full advantage of the nationally recognized camp, fine tuning their craft before the season opening Round Robin Tournament the organization will be hosting Aug. 22 at the Corral.

First Running Of Gridiron Golf Tournament Goes Off Smoothly

Everything that needed to fall into place fell into its appropriate spot as the first ever Gridiron Greats Golf Tournament went off without a hiccup Aug. 3 at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club.

It's one thing to put together a lengthy run amongst the best teams in Northern California, but it is a completely different scenario when the battle is being staged against the best teams in the entire nation.

Stampede Preparing For 2009 Youth Football Schedule

Looking to improve on past success in the Cen-Cal League, the Oakdale Stampede organization will not be taking any shortcuts in its pursuit for a shot at the title at all levels of youth football this season.

Oakdale Gators Close Season

The Oakdale Swim Team took to the pool for the final time this season and brought the competitive schedule to a close with a fourth place finish during the Championship Meet in Turlock on July 25.
Blistering temperatures set the tone for the team's performance, with the near triple digits seeming to sap some energy from the number-challenged squad, as the Gators closed out the season with 547 points behind championship winner Ripon (1215 points), Tracy Tritons (778.5) and the Hughson Sea Dogs (743.5) in the final meet of the season.

Ladies Golf Invitational A Swingin’ Good Time

It started with a theme and closed out as one of Oakdale Golf and Country Club's all-time greats when the ladies of O.G.C.C. took to the course for the Ladies Invitational July 24 and 25 at the country club.

The easiest thing in the world to see was how much fun the participants in Eric Bell Professional School of Baseball's 10th Annual Summer Baseball Camp were having during the former big leaguer's annual event at Rainbow Fields.

Oakdale Junior Golfers Shine On Their Home Course

It's one of the toughest courses in the area, yet there is nothing like playing at home. And that proved to be the difference during the 20th Annual Oakdale Rotary Junior Classic July 20 at Oakdale Golf and Country Club.

Third Place Showing For Oakdale Polo Club

Competing in the United States Polo Association (USPA) Interscholastic Girls (seventh grade – 12th grade) division, Oakdale took third place overall at the Western Regional Tournament at Central Coast Polo Club in Los Osos, California. The team was in action Feb. 13 through 15 and played against Maui Makaha, Maui, Hawaii and Horse Park, Menlo Park, California. They placed third overall.

Great Weather, Great Performances Highlight NHRA Racing

The 31st annual Carquest NHRA Nationals at Wild Horse Motor Sports Park in Phoenix, Arizona, featured some strong performances throughout qualifying, thanks to some very good weather conditions. Just enough sun to put some heat in the track with some cloud cover to keep the temperatures in the optimal range for tuning performances in all the professional categories. The great weather also brought out huge crowds for the two qualifying days.

Optimal Conditions Produce Stellar NHRA Performances

The 2015 NHRA Season opened with the 55th annual Circle K/NHRA Winter Nationals in Pomona at the LA County Fairplex. Throughout qualifying, 70 degree plus temperatures and overcast skies prevailed, producing some of the best conditions seen in a while for some great on track performances. But, just as the final rounds of professional qualifying arrived, the overcast skies turned into rain, cancelling the fourth and final qualifying session. Thus, the final elimination fields would be set after just three highly competitive sessions of qualifying.
