Locals Shine At Saturday MMA Show

A collection of kickboxing, pankration, mixed martial arts amateurs and professionals from the Oakdale MMA Club took on competitors at the Chicken Ranch Casino in Jamestown on Saturday for the first ever presentation by Art of War Productions. The affiliation, co-founded by Oakdale MMA instructor Tom Theofanopoulos, hosted around 1,000 fans for the amateur and professional portion of the event and thrilled the standing-room only crowd with 15 total bouts inside the cage. Strikers Claim Cup Championship

The Under-12 Oakdale Strikers thrilled a huge contingent of local fans with an exciting 3-2 victory over the West Sonoma County Cyclones in the championship game of the CYSA Association Cup on Saturday. The team overcame an early deficit and played incredible defense throughout the contest to claim the first ever Association Cup title for a team from the local area. Fishing Report

Last week while driving to a favorite camping spot of mine, I got behind a boat that was being towed by a small SUV.
