Athlete of the Week - Oakdale Gators

Oakdale's successful recreation swim program proved they could peak at the right time during the Mid Valley Swim League championships at their host Oakdale Aquatic Center on Saturday, July 16. Seventy percent of Oakdale Gators swimmers saw improved times and an amazing 40 percent bested personal marks in multiple events at the season finale.

SOAK Boys Ready For Junior Olympics

It's official. Despite the respite a pool offers this summer, water polo is the hottest sport in Oakdale. The Oakdale Water Polo Club and SOAK (Sonora/Oakdale) teams have exploded to record numbers this summer, and saw an unexpected 18-deep roster of 12-and-under coed players for their host SOAK Tournament last weekend. NorCal Baseball Claims Second Place Honors In Nebraska

Five Oakdale baseball players, a Riverbank player and several more from Turlock met with Oakdale High graduate and current California State University, Berkeley pitcher Justin Jones earlier this month during the college World Series in Nebraska. Athlete Of The Week - Dustin VandenBosch

One of the closest races in the Oakdale Invitational on June 11 was a tight thriller in the 9-10 50 meter breast stroke, when Dustin VandenBosch of the Oakdale Gators out-touched the second place finisher by just five one hundredths of a second to win the event. He would go on to claim second in the 100 free, join a first place 100 free relay and second place 100 medley relay as well in a very successful event for the young swimmer.
