She was born in New York where she met her husband Al Olbrycht.
She graduated as salutatorian from her high school in New York and received her masters degree from Columbia University.
Mrs. Olbrycht was very religious her entire life and praised God for making it possible to be the first in her family to graduate from college and become a teacher. She taught in New York, Tennessee, and California.
She was an avid opponent of too much homework, believing that children needed time with their families with friends.

Glenna 'Yvonne' Arnett, 75, of Modesto died Tuesday, July 28 at Alexander Cohen Hospice House, Hughson.
She was a native of Oklahoma and previously lived in Sonora for 25 years.
Mrs. Arnett owned and operated 'Beauty and the Budget,' a retail beauty supply store. She started her store in Modesto, then it moved to Oakdale, and finally to Sonora where it has been for over 15 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana Arnett of Riverbank; brother, Darrell Ireland of Modesto; and two grandchildren.
Graveside service was held July 31 at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery.

Richard Eddie Meier, 64, of Oakdale died Saturday, Aug. 1.
Mr. Meier was a native of Venice, CA. He lived in Oakdale for two years.
He worked for Granite Construction for 18 years.

Ross Barton 'Bart' Paul, 73, died suddenly on Sunday, July 26 while on a golf vacation in Klamath Falls, OR.
He was born to Waite and Marlea Paul in Turlock. He grew up throughout the central valley of California. He graduated from Oakdale High School in 1954. In 1957, he fell in love with and married Hazel Howell of Modesto.
Mr. Paul served in the Naval Reserve prior to beginning his career. After his service, he returned to Oakdale and eventually moved to Modesto, where he and his wife raised their family.
Florence Ellen Van Dyke, 94, of Escalon died Sunday, Aug. 2 in Modesto.
She was a native of Alabama. She lived in Oakdale 40 years prior to moving to Escalon over a year ago.
Mrs. Van Dyke was a licensed vocational nurse for 18 years.
