He was born to Thomas and Edith Brennan in Stockton. He and his brothers, Jack and Tom, grew up in the cities of Eugene, Oakland, Stockton, and Sonora with their mother after their father's passing in 1933.

She was born in Escalon and lived in Riverbank.
Verna Jane Deabenderfer, 74, died Thursday, Sept. 9 at her Oakdale home with her family by her side.
She was a native of Dickenson, North Dakota. She lived in Oakdale for about 45 years.
Kirk L. Lynch, 53, of Escalon died Wednesday, Sept. 1 at Doctor's Medical Center, Modesto.
He was a native of Greeley, Colorado. He lived much of his life in Escalon.
Alice B. Richardson, 91, died Sunday, Sept. 5 at her Oakdale home.
She was a native of Hawaii and lived in Oakdale for six years.
Alfred David Schimmel, 81, died Thursday, Sept. 9 in Modesto.
He was born on July 22, 1929.

He was born in San Jose. He lived in the Knights Ferry and Oakdale areas for 25 years.

Virgie Evelyn Riley Jones, 91, of Coulterville died Thursday, Aug. 26 at Sonora Regional Convalescent.
She was a native of Newport, Arkansas. She lived in Coulterville for 25 years and previously lived in Oakdale for 25 years.
Stephen Paul 'Steve' Shuler, 62, died on Saturday, Aug. 28 at his home.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio in 1966. He lettered in football and was named an All Great Lakes League player.
Jesse T. Ybarra, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 31 at his Oakdale home.
He was a native of Glendale and lived in Oakdale for 20 years.
Leon Watson, 90, died Sunday, Aug. 22 at Kaiser Hospital, Modesto.He lived in Escalon for 38 years.He was active in community service, coordinating the Escalon community dances since 1989 until the last dance was held in 2009. The dances took place every first and third Sunday of the month. He was also involved with the Riverbank and Oakdale community dances.He is survived by his wife, Allene Watson; sons, Troy and Douglas Watson; daughter, Tomé Porter; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.A memorial service was held Aug. 27 at Lakewood Funeral Home - Heritage Chapel.The Oakdale (Calif.)
