After receiving information of a possible marijuana grow inside a residence, and with the passage of a recent city ordinance prohibiting marijuana cultivation – medicinal or otherwise – Oakdale Police conducted a check of the East J Street residence and discovered a number of pot plants.
Additional investigation into a known felon who was in possession of a stolen handgun from a March 3 arrest, resulted in Oakdale Police officers serving a search warrant on the lawbreaker's home and finding more contraband that resulted in more criminal charges.
A joint endeavor between the Oakdale Police Department and Stanislaus County Probation Department on Wednesday, Feb. 17 resulted in several arrests for separate narcotics violations by probationers living in the city.

Oakdale Police responded to the Cottonwood Restaurant at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday night, Feb. 2 regarding a report that the owner of the business had been stabbed when confronting two subjects who had broken into the South Yosemite Avenue establishment.
Four people gathered at the rear of a U-Haul truck parked at Jerry's Motel on East F Street garnered the attention of Oakdale Police Sergeant Joe Carrillo as he drove past the location around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan 30. A closer examination by the veteran sergeant revealed that one of the subjects, a male, was attempting to pick the lock of the truck that was parked at the side of the establishment.
