A local transient, wanted for the attempted murder of a Sonora woman, was arrested Wednesday night by Sonora Police after a manhunt by at least three police agencies since Monday, Feb. 8.

Oakdale Police responded to the Cottonwood Restaurant at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday night, Feb. 2 regarding a report that the owner of the business had been stabbed when confronting two subjects who had broken into the South Yosemite Avenue establishment.

Suspicious Activity Leads To Arrest Of Four

Four people gathered at the rear of a U-Haul truck parked at Jerry's Motel on East F Street garnered the attention of Oakdale Police Sergeant Joe Carrillo as he drove past the location around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan 30. A closer examination by the veteran sergeant revealed that one of the subjects, a male, was attempting to pick the lock of the truck that was parked at the side of the establishment.
