Second Annual Color Run Sets New Record

The sky was colored blue, yellow, red and purple as over 700 Oakdale Junior High School students participated in the Second Annual Color Run on Friday, Oct. 6. According to event coordinator Sarah Nelson, preliminary numbers for the event show over $20,000 collected by the students through sponsorships.

Fair Oaks Welcomes Ag Day Presenters, Visitors

HELPING HANDS

Cloverland Elementary Student Council recently organized a Spirit Day fundraiser in support of the recent hurricane victims. Students wearing red or white the day of the event were included in an overhead photo. A total of $945 was collected for the American Red Cross.

SWEET CHALLENGE

Oakdale High School recently hosted its Annual 100 foot Ice Cream Sundae Challenge for the freshman class. Over 100 freshmen participated in the event, finishing the sweet treat off in five minutes and 51 seconds. They set a new school record.

Student Librarians Are Hands On Helpers

Fair Oaks Elementary School has more than a new library and media center on campus. Thanks to the leadership and passion of Library Technician Geneva Franciosa, it is also tended to by a dozen Junior Librarians. A program she first began over three years ago.

Stanislaus State Schedules Reflecting Pond Dedication

California State University, Stanislaus will dedicate its iconic Reflecting Pond to Dr. Marvalene Hughes, president emerita of Stanislaus State, at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29. The event will include remarks by University President Ellen Junn and a poem written for the event by American poet Nikki Giovanni.

Educational Foundation Dinner Set For Saturday

Oakdale Educational Foundation will host its annual fundraiser this Saturday, Sept. 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event will be hosted at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club, 243 N. Stearns Road, Oakdale. This year's theme is Boots and Bling.
