Soroptimists Set To Offer Dream It, Be It Conference

Local service organization Soroptimist International of Oakdale is sponsoring a "Dream It, Be It" conference for seventh through ninth grade girls who attend Oakdale, Valley Home, and Knights Ferry schools or reside in these areas. The free conference will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Oakdale High School's library from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Congressional Visits Set For Central Valley Cities

U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) has announced Mobile District Office Hours for the month of October. Mobile District Office Hours are an opportunity for 10th district residents to meet with the congressman and staff to hear more about his work in Washington, D.C. and the Central Valley, have their questions answered or get help with specific casework.

ASTRO Offers October Kitten Adoption Special

The ASTRO (Animal Shelter To Riverbank & Oakdale) Foundation has an abundance of over 100 kittens and cats that are currently available for adoption. The majority were rescued from the City of Oakdale Animal Shelter which is just too small to handle the number of felines that it receives. With the hard work of the ASTRO Foundation's volunteers, there is hope for these kitties.

Rivi's Wine Bar patio area was filled to capacity last week as the first Paint Night was hosted to a crowd of 30 eager painters. Serendipity Paint and Sip nights hosted by Lisa McDaniel-Norris will be a regular monthly occurrence at the Oakdale hot spot.
