Candidate Forums Slated For Primary

The League of Women Voters Stanislaus County is planning a series of candidate forums for the coming June primary elections. The public is invited to attend. The forums give voters the opportunity to meet the candidates, hear their statements and responses to questions from the audience about the issues confronting the community. Climate Change Activist Challenges Local AAUW

Engaged knowledgeable individuals want to reduce their carbon footprint. And even though a majority of Americans support taking action to address the threat of climate change, they aren't sure how that goal can best be achieved. At the Thursday, April 12 meeting of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Oakdale-Riverbank-Escalon Branch, Des Orsinelli, a local climate change activist will speak to members, guests, and prospective members about how the Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) is advocating for passage of their Carbon Fee and Dividend proposal in Congress.

Wildlife Care Center Baby Animal Shower

The Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center celebrates spring with its annual Baby Animal Shower. They will have BBQ tri tip sandwiches, hot dogs, ice cream sundaes, face painting, T-shirts for sale, raffle, kid's crafts, and even wild barn owl pellets to dissect. The shower is Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wildlife Center inside Fox Grove Fishing Access, 1220 Geer Road.

Carlos Maldonado Romero, 49, alleged an industrial injury to his mid and low back while working as a dairy milker for Foster Dairy Farms dba Crystal Creamery ("Foster Farms") in Fresno. He was working under the name of Carlos Maldonado and filed the Workers' Compensation claim under that name.
