Local Ear, Nose And Throat Surgeon To Lecture At UC Davis

Dr. Jerrold Polterock, Oakdale's Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon will be lecturing to Head and Neck residents during Grand Rounds in the Department of Otolaryngology at UC Davis on Tuesday, March 13. He will be lecturing about the treatment of nosebleeds, and how the treatment has changed and improved through his experience over the last 25 years. His talk is titled, "Epistaxis: (nosebleeds) My Personal Journey."

Deputies Search For Suspects In Waterford Shooting

Sheriff's Deputies assigned to Waterford Police Services are investigating a shooting that happened Monday, March 5 at 5:55 p.m. in the 500 block of F Street in Waterford. Deputies responded to a male who had been shot, when they arrived they found a 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his upper body and one to his lower body. He was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Status Quo For Ordinance

After much discussion about the current wording of the existing planned development requirements, the Oakdale Planning Commission voted to keep the wording the same but took under consideration the suggestion to restructure the way the section is presented to be more user-friendly.

Police Seek Scam Victims

An investigation into reports of identity theft and credit card fraud resulted in the serving of search warrants and confiscation of property in Escalon this week, and police are looking for possible victims of the scam. The warrants were served at a business, All City Automotive at 1910 Main St., Escalon, and a residence in the 1800 Block of Baker Avenue in that city.

Recycle Rate Increases

Starting March 1, California consumers who redeem their (CRV) beverage container deposits will receive an increase in the per pound redemption rate. 
"Recycling beverage containers makes more 'cents' than ever before," said Matt Millhiser, rePLANET's Marketing Director. "The State's new redemption rates, combined with our innovations in automated technology, make recycling more financially rewarding and convenient than any time in California history."
