MJC Schedules April 14 Screening Of “The Burden”

The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project (CEP) invites the community to a screening of the film "The Burden" on Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in Forum 110 on East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. The free event is part of the CEP Spring Film and Lecture Series. Campus parking is available for $2 in student parking lots.

NOAA Administrator Lauds Pacific Fishery Council Work

Dr. Kathryn Sullivan, the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), visited the Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) meeting in Vancouver, Washington on Saturday, April 9 and addressed the Council, which is responsible for managing ocean fisheries off Washington, Oregon, and California. Dr. Sullivan is a distinguished scientist, astronaut, and explorer.

New books at the Oakdale Library will be featured on the first Wednesday of each month in the Oakdale Leader. Tuesday, May 3 will mark the date for the gathering of members and friends for Oakdale Women's Club.
