Glenn ‘Bachi’ Bacigalupi, Family Patriarch, Passes At 87

Oakdale's Glenn Bacigalupi, who, along with his family, was honored earlier this year by the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce with their Lifetime Achievement Award, passed away at age 87 Saturday, Sept. 26 in the late afternoon, his son Michael reported.

Analysts See Price Drops Continuing At Gas Pumps

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have fallen 7.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.72/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.29/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Consultant To Study Airport Lease Rates

In response to a July FAA letter criticizing the city's lease of airport facilities to Sierra West Airlines and the determination that "…Sierra West Airlines at the Oakdale Airport functions mainly as a non-aeronautical activity" the City of Oakdale has hired Cogdill Real Estate Associates of Modesto to determine the fair market rental value of the airport facilities that are being used for non-aeronautical purposes and begin charging Sierra West Airlines fair market value rental of Hangars L-1 and L-3.
