Adopt A Shelter Pet Event Slated Jan. 2

The Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance will be hosting a pet adoption event at PetCo in the Crossroads Shopping Center in Riverbank on Saturday, Jan. 2 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in hopes of finding some furry little friends their forever homes.

City Schedules Annual Christmas Tree Pick-Up

The City of Oakdale will host its annual Christmas tree pick-up from Monday, Jan. 4 through Friday, Jan. 15. Pick-up days will be the same as your regular garbage pick-up day. Allow for pick-up anytime between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

McNerney, Denham Salute French Camp Construction

Building upon his long-standing commitment to the nation's veterans, Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-09) joined with local veterans and community leaders on Monday, Dec. 21 to announce the planned construction of the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in French Camp. Funding for the CBOC was included in the FY16 omnibus spending bill passed by Congress and signed by President Obama last week. Securing funding for the project is a critical step to move the clinic forward to the construction phase.

Holiday Travel More Affordable

GasBuddy officials project that consumers will save $1.6 billion on gas over their year-end travels compared to last year. According to the annual GasBuddy holiday travel survey, 88 percent of those heading out of town will be doing so by car, with a majority (66 percent) driving at least 200 miles round trip.

Super Bowl Event Set

Oakdale Lions Club is hosting its Second Annual Super Bowl Sensation Event. Tickets to the event are $100, which permits two adults over the age of 21 to the indoor tailgate party on Monday, Dec. 21. The tailgate party will be hosted at Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale.
