Stearns Road Residents Want Answers On Bypass

More than 30 residents of the Stearns Road area affected by the proposed North County Corridor project showed in force at the Oakdale City Council Chambers on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The Stearns Road route for the corridor is one of three alternatives developed since June of 2011 and would impact approximately 120 land parcels.

American Legion Posts To Revitalize In Local Areas

Military veterans in and around Modesto, Stockton and neighboring areas are invited for a special service session from Thursday, Sept. 20 through Saturday, Sept. 22 at the following locations: Modesto American Legion Post 74, 1001 S. Santa Cruz Ave., Modesto and American Legion Post 16, 2020 Plymouth Road, Stockton. For the Modesto location, on Saturday, Sept. 22, the event will be moved to the Modesto Moose Family Center #1608, 821 Fifth St. Modesto.

CHP Conducts Bus Inspection In Yosemite

The California Highway Patrol (CHP), in partnership with the National Park Service, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Public Utilities Commission, Modesto Police Department, and San Francisco Police Department, conducted a surprise bus inspection in Yosemite National Park on Sept. 7-8. The bus inspection was planned in support of the nationwide campaign to improve tour bus safety.
