Emergency responders, which includes the police, firefighters and paramedics who are the first to arrive at the scene of an incident, are in the business of protecting others and helping to save lives. These workers are on call during natural disasters, technological failures, terrorist attacks, and many other potentially traumatic events. Emergency responders are the unsung heroes of many communities that they work hard to keep safe and secure.

Area Motorists See Slight Rise In Prices

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have risen 5.0 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.57/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. MJC Presentation Focuses On Mountain Lions, Bighorn Sheep

The Modesto Area Partners in Science (MAPS) will offer the presentation "Mountain lions and bighorn sheep: risks, rewards, or range abandonment?" by Jeff Villepique, Ph.D., a wildlife biologist with California Fish & Wildlife, Inland Deserts Region.
