Modesto Junior College Art Gallery presents Abstract Considerations, an exhibition of the works of artist Matt Rhoades. The display is open to the public through Thursday, Sept. 22. The MJC Art Gallery is located on East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto and it is open Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.

General Deer Season Opens This Weekend

California's 2016 general deer season will open in zones B1-B3, B5, B6, C1-C4, D6-D8, X9A, X9B and X12 on Saturday, Sept. 17. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) reminds hunters to pay close attention to the occurrence of wild fires in their favorite hunting spots.
