Hundreds Delight In Juicy Bull Jewels

Oakdale's FES Hall was packed on Monday night, March 30, as locals and out-of-towners feasted in a unique community fundraiser that helped support two organizations – the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce and the Oakdale Cowboy Museum. The fare: over 400 pounds of bull testicles, better known as Rocky Mountain Oysters, accompanied with beans, Caesar salad, and French bread.

Almond Growers Approve Continuing Market Order

A hit and run accident resulted in this light pole going down on North Second Avenue, reported early Monday morning, March 24. The pole came down on the awning of the Oakdale MMA building and crews responded quickly, removing the damaged pole to make way for a new one.

Irrigation Season Status Update

The Oakdale Irrigation District brought water into its canal system on Saturday, March 15 to prepare for the start of the irrigation season, as reported by OID General Manager Steve Knell at the March 18 regular meeting of the Board of Directors. The season was initially planned to start on March 3 but rains allowed for the delay. It was reported that there were no major issues and only one minor issue with tumbleweed when bringing water into the canals.

City Status - Mid-Year Budget Near Predictions

A report at the March 17 Oakdale City Council meeting by City Manager Bryan Whitemyer regarding the city budget, showed the city with only a $72,000 variance of its final budget proposed from October of last year.
