Bicycle Fundraiser Aids Rescue Mission

As part of their 75th Anniversary Celebration, the Gospel Center Rescue Mission is hosting its inaugural "Spinning With A Mission" bicycling fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Oak Park in Stockton. All proceeds raised for the event will benefit the mission and the programs they offer to aid the homeless and addicted in the community. The Gospel Center Rescue Mission is the only agency in San Joaquin County that meets the long-term needs of the homeless and has the highest success in their recovery.

California Soaks Up Lower Pump Prices

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have fallen 0.8 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.61/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.26/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
